The portion sizes are very good here. You can tell that someone there really likes plants, and as a person who likes plants themselves it was nice to see them flourishing all over the restaurant. I had the pastrami sandwich with the au jus and the cucumber salad, as well as shared the matzo ball soup. Both were excellent and I wouldn't mind coming back here again

Absolutely loved the reuben, corned beef tender stacked higher than I expected, great value for money. The chicken soup was delicious as well, would totally come back in a heartbeat

I give this restaurant five stars based solely on the food. I really enjoy their pastrami and cold roast beef sandwiches and decent prices. I qualified my review simply because I have found the dine in service to be unfriendly and borderline rude. Frankly I usually order to-go rather than experience the service. This is too bad since it's a relatively large restaurant that relies on dining in. But why would I do so when I could eat in the peace And quite of my car. However, inside their occasionally with guests and it's common to have them complain about the service. Rarely a smile, not very accommodating and leaves the feeling guests are tolerated rather than appreciated. Of course this is mainly my opinion. The restaurant has been there a long time so it must have devoted customers who put the issue of unfriendly service aside.

Had another great dinner at the New York deli the sandwiches were amazing. I love the matzoh ball soup, nice and hot. The double burger was cooked fresh tasty french fries service was A+ as usual. I love the decor inside cool music playing. Can't wait to go back again if you like a good deli ithis is the place to go.

I live in Anaheim, but I grew up in the South Bay. I have been coming to the New York deli for over 40 years. I had lunch here yesterday and not much has changed. I had the cabbage soup and a toasted bagel with cream cheese. They only have plain bagels, which I don't mind. My dining partner had a pastrami dip with coleslaw. The food is phenomenal. The soup is full of cabbage and carrots and has a nice, tasty broth. The bagel was fresh and had a nice amount of cream cheese on it. My friend said her sandwich was good. The au jus was dark and rich. The service is fantastic and my waiter, I didn't ask his name, but I should know it because I've been there so many times, has worked there for 45 years. The meat and cheese selections are very nice. The pastrami and corned beef is lean and fresh. I bought a loaf of rye bread to take home. The Reuben sandwich certainly rivals a particular deli in Los Alamitos. The ambience of the restaurant is pleasing. There are lots of plants and twinkly lights. There plenty of photographs of Hollywood and Broadway stars on the walls. Parking can be tight.

It's strange how, as much as I love a good deli pastrami or corned beef sandwich, I've never been to this spot. I think I'm spoiled by the Hat and their infamous pastrami dip so when I think of pastrami, I think of the Hat. My brother just came back from New York and was upset that there was a 3 hours wait to get into Katz Deli because he wanted the Jewish deli fix. He lives abroad and where he lives, Jewish Deli food is nonexistent. Determined to get his fix, he found The New York Deli and we decided to make the trip. It was fairly empty when we arrived, although to be fair we arrived at 3pm, which is smack in the middle of the downtime between lunch and dinner. We sat and, since we were the only table here, service was fast. Everything was fast in fact because, once again, we were literally the only customers at this time. I opted for the corned beef. It was actually a struggle deciding between the corned beef or pastrami, but between the two, I have pastrami more often. My brother also had a difficult time deciding which is why he went with the New Yorker Triple Decker. He somehow managed to finish that monstrosity....this sandwich was big enough for me. The sandwich itself was solid. I love having the swiss and coleslaw on it to tone down the saltiness of the meat. The mac salad was fine as well. I'm still not sure how I've missed this spot in the 10+ years I've lived in LA (and the 6+ living in the South Bay area), but I'm glad I went. It is out of the way for me, so it'd be a special trip to come back, but this has become my goto for a Jewish deli near me.

Simplicity at its finest. The quality of their cuts are amazing. The brisket sandwich was flavorful. They put the perfect amount of mayonnaise and are very generous with their meat portions. The restaurant has a throwback feel, that's cozy and welcoming. The service is friendly and fast. I would give this place 5 stars if their sandwiches weren't so pricey but that doesn't mean I won't return. Definitely a spot to check out if you enjoy sandwich meats.

Years ago, I stumbled upon this deli while on a mission to find the perfect chicken noodle soup--you know, the kind that actually makes you feel better when you're sick? And this place nailed it. Their chicken noodle soup is just... everything. It's so comforting, full of flavor, and seriously works wonders when I'm feeling under the weather. My son LOVES it too! It's become my go-to whenever someone in the house catches a cold or just feels off. Actually, I'm here today grabbing some for my son--he's a bit under the weather. Weird thing is, even after all these years, I've never tried anything else on the menu (no idea why!). But today, I noticed they have cabbage soup, and since cabbage is great for digestion, I ordered it for myself. Just be careful because the soups are scalding hot! So, if you're looking for that homemade chicken noodle soup that feels like a big warm hug in a bowl, this is the place. Can't believe it took me this long to finally write a review!

If you are craving a New York Deli then you've got to try this.....it's true to its name. We ordered their Pastrami Rueben, hot Brisket, hot pastrami and roast beef french dip. Coleslaw and French fries. They were all delicious. The Rueben and French dip were outstanding and just thinking about it makes me want to go back. The restaurant is has the typical deli look, a bit messy with lots of signed actors headshots hung on their walls. It's part of a strip mall off Sepulveda and has a nice size parking lot for convenience. Service is quick and efficient and they made ordering for pick very easy. Everything was packed nicely and correctly, If you're ever in the South Bay and craving a good deli - this is the place to go!

New York deli is a staple of the South Bay. This used to be one of the key lunch spots when I worked down here 1- ambiance Covered with pictures of Hollywood heros, this is not a fine dining establishment. It's a deli 2- service Super good. They are very attentive and are always there to refill the ice tea. Food prep is fast - which is key when you're on a limited lunch break schedule 3- food The sandwiches are HUGE. This ain't subway where you get a small hint of meat. Here the sandwiches tower over you. Oh, regular isn't enough? They have grande versions. You will not go hungry. The sides are also great. This is the only place I get carrot salad. Even the pickles on the side are good Yup- you should add this to your lunch list. Come hungry
